Thanksgiving Holiday Assistance

Since our inception, we have been able to help 20-40 families in need, annually, with Thanksgiving boxes. With the generous donations and support of our community we are able to deliver a box of Thanksgiving groceries to families in need. Our goal is to provide families with the groceries, so they can enjoy making dinner with their families.

Christmas Assistance

Peace of HOPE Foundation’s Adopt-A-Family (AAF) program matches impoverished families with individual or group sponsors to provide for their tangible needs at Christmas. Without the benefit of an adoption, these families would be looking forward to a very grim holiday. Being adopted is designed to be a once or, on very rare occasions, twice in a lifetime event for recipient families. When an Adopt-A-Family match is made, the family information and wish lists are sent to the sponsor.

Our Goal is that the family receives the gifts and food during the week before Christmas.

Since our inception, we have been able to help/adopt 10-20 families in need, annually, with their Christmas wish list. We have been able to provide toys, clothes, electronics, beds, and utility assistance.

Natural Disaster/ Tornado Relief

In April of 2018, Greensboro was hit with a Tornado. Damage estimates included more than 1,000 structures, which included homes, schools, churches and businesses. A state of emergency was declared. Peace of HOPE Foundation assisted with providing some of the immediate resources and needs of the families affected by the Tornado.

Peace of HOPE also provided some recovery case management, coordinating housing, basic needs and mental health services for 50+ households.

Greensboro Housing Coalition served as the intake point for 174 households needing rehousing assistance. The Salvation Army serves as the long-term recovery case management lead agency and coordinates emergency hotel housing placements, transition to permanent housing, and basic needs or case management for 425 households.
